Centre for Baltic and Scandinavian Archaeology (ZBSA)
The Centre for Baltic and Scandinavian Archaeology within the foundation Schleswig-Holsteinische Landesmuseen Schloss Gottorf in Schleswig carries out archaeological research in the North Sea/Baltic region and in Scandinavia. Central research areas comprise the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic, the 1st millennium AD (Roman Iron Age, Migration period, Merovingian period, Carolingian period, Early Middle Ages/Viking period), archaeozoology and faunal history as well as AMS-dating and isotope research.
